Pamper Your Pet Naturally
Therese, Do You Pamper Your Pet?
Owning a Pet Boosts Health - Especially Seniors' Health
People who own pets probably know intuitively that their animal friend improves their quality of life. Science continues to support that belief, most recently by recognizing our pets as significant contributors to our ability to age well.
A recent study found that a pet provides both mental and physical health benefits to elderly owners. They found that seniors who have pets are less likely to decline physically and mentally over the course of a year than their pet-less peers. If you own a pet, give Fluffy or Fido an extra pat for contributing to your good health!

Pamper Your Pet Naturally
Many people living an organic, sustainable, natural lifestyle are looking to get their pets in on the act. The natural pet product industry has grown tremendously in the past few years, with all kinds of products available for cats and dogs. Now, pets can be pampered with organic pet food, environmentally sustainable bedding and holistic veterinary care. These products and services may come at a premium price, but many consumers are willing to spend a few extra dollars on Fluffy and Fido, knowing they are giving them the best in nutrition and health care and taking care of the earth at the same time. Homeopathy for People and Pets
A small, but growing number of veterinarians in this country are also using homeopathy in the treatment of many dog and cat problems, ranging from allergic reactions and trauma to chronic disease.
In San Diego, at the Carmel Mountain Animal Clinic, veterinarian Steve Blake also emphasizes homeopathy. "Just about every condition a veterinarian sees in a general practice can be treated wholly or in part with homeopathy," says Blake. "Often the animals I see have been through so-called conventional treatments that perhaps haven't worked or that have resulted in intolerable side effects. Homeopathy offers a safe alternative. It is also a great complement to surgery and I use it all the time with surgery to reduce pain and swelling and enhance the healing process." Click Here for Homeopathy Products Your Pets

Healthy Tip
Parked Car: Not the Place for Your Pet
It only takes a few minutes for temperatures to climb to dangerous, even deadly, levels in a parked car. On a 78 degree day, the temperature inside a car can reach 160 degrees in the sun. Many experts recommend you don't leave pets (or children!) in the car when the temperature outside is in the 60's. Even with the windows down and in the shade, your pet is still at risk. It is even against the law in many areas to leave a pet in this situation.
