Fir Needle Silver essential oil

Botanical Name: Abies alba L.

Family: Pinaceae.

Synonyms: Abies pectinata ; European silver fir; white spruce; fir needle oil.

Origin: Native to North   Europe. Introduced throughout Europe including Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, France, Yugoslavia.

Botanical Description: A small coniferous tree with a characteristic cone shape. It has silvery white trunk with numerous branches.

Oil Extraction: Essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the needles and twigs. The oil is colorless to pale yellow mobile liquid. Yield 0.3%.

Aroma Profile: Has a refreshing balsamic-sweet top note. The middle note is balsamic with sweet, oily, pine-like undernote. The dry out is faintly sweet, balsamic, pine-like.

Major Constituents: α-pinene, β-pinene, limonene, bornyl acetate (4 to 10%).

Adulterants: Not typically adulterated.

Regulatory Status: Food additive 172.510.

Aromatherapy: Centering, refreshing, harmonizing

Blends well with: Cedarwood, cypress, sandalwood, juniper, pine, sweet marjoram, rosemary, lemon.

Safety Data: Non-toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitizing.
