Boils Natural Cure
A boil is a localized deep skin infection. It is also known as skin abscess. It generally starts as a reddened tender area on the skin over time the area becomes firm and hard. Eventually the center of the boil softens and fills with puss.
Types of Boils
There are many types of boils but the four major ones are:
- Furuncle or carbuncle: This type of boil is caused by Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. It may be associated with fever or chill and may have one or more openings.
- Cystic acne: This type of boil occurs when the oil ducts get clogged and infected. It is more common on face and occurs mostly on face. It affects the deep tissues.
- Hidradenitis suppurativia: This type of boil appears mostly on the arm pit and groin area. They occur in group and are the result of inflammation of the local sweat gland. IT is difficult to treat them with the antibiotic alone and typically needs surgery.
- Pilonidal cyst: This type of boil occurs on the crease of the buttocks. It begins as the tiny areas of infection at the hair follicle. Over the period of time it gets inflamed and causes discomfort in sitting. It generally occurs after a long trip.
There are many reasons that can cause a boil. Boils may occur due to ingrown hair, as a result of splinter or other foreign element that has become lodged in the skin etc. Any one can have a boil but people with low immune system are more susceptible to it.
To prevent further complications boils must be treated as soon as they are noticed. There are antibiotics available for treating boils; they help in eliminating bacterial infection. However they are not applicable for all situations.
Home Remedy for Boils
- Primary treatment can be done by applying heat to the boil; it will help circulation at the area.
- Some of the home remedies for boils are as follows
- Applying juices of onion and garlic directly on the boil helps them to ripen fast and evacuate pus. Eating few flakes of garlic during meal time is also helpful.
- Bitter gourd is effective for blood filled boils. Bitter gourd juice with a teaspoonful of lime juice should be taken empty stomach.
- Apply a paste of one teaspoon of milk cream, half a tea spoon of vinegar and a pinch of turmeric powder. It helps in ripening the blood boils and in their healing without allowing them to become septic.
- Home remedies for boils are cost-effective and does not have any side effects.
